Eagles Scout Owen Young led a group of Boy Scouts from Mantua’s Troop 7083 to improve trails and provide some improvements at the township’s Ceres Park in November, including a new map of the park with trails defined by color and installation of a new sign post at the park entrance.

The sign includes the new map and a QR code for it on the Mantua website’s park page that will allow hikers to download the document to their phones before they enter the park andits trails.

Young did this as part of his Eagle Scout project, working with other Scouts to blaze the colored trails throughout the park. They also built three new park benches and installed them around Emerald Lake for hikers to use for rest, to enjoy the view or to fish.
