It is with heavy hearts that the Monroe Township Police Department announces the passing of retired K9 Paco, Badge #K-16, on October 20.
K9 Paco faithfully served our community alongside his partner and handler, A/Lt. Nick Marchisello, from 2016 until his retirement in April 2024. Throughout their years together, the team conducted over 200 narcotics assignments and approximately 50 patrol assignments. In 2021, Paco was recognized with an award for his exceptional work in locating and recovering a discarded firearm following a shooting incident.
While Paco was a dedicated and skilled police K9, he also had a softer side. He loved greeting children and interacting with residents, making him not only a valuable member of our department but also a beloved part of our community.
Following his retirement, Paco enjoyed a well-deserved slower pace of life, spending his days playing fetch, roaming his big yard, relaxing, and enjoying fresh locally sourced venison dinner with his family.
K9 Paco was more than a police dog. He was a loyal partner, a trusted protector, and a cherished member of the Marchisello family.
Paco will be deeply missed. Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with A/Lt. Marchisello and the entire Marchisello family during this difficult time.
Thank you for your years of loyal service, Paco. Your work is done and your legacy will live on.
