As the Halloween season approaches, the City of Vineland is hosting two family-friendly Halloween events for kids to enjoy, along with traditional Trick-or-Treating hours.

Children can begin collecting their Halloween treats at the Vineland Police Department’s annual Family Fun Night “Trunk or Treat” event, in collaboration with the Vineland Public Schools, on Tuesday, October 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. The free family fun event will be held at Vineland High School, located at 2880 E. Chestnut Avenue. There will be hayrides, music, food trucks and decorated vehicles on display for Trunk or Treat fun. The rain date is Wednesday, October 23. For more information, contact the VPD Community Policing Unit at 856-691-4111, ext. 4059 or 4933.

The Halloween fun will continue on Saturday, October 26, when Main Street Vineland presents its annual Pumpkin Patch Party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Landis Avenue Miniparks. The event will include a DJ to provide a dance party atmosphere, while children may enjoy painting pumpkins and other games and activities. Children who come in costume will be able to collect Halloween candy. For more information, call Main Street Vineland at 856-794-8653.

After the Pumpkin Patch Party, the little ghosts and goblins will be back home in plenty of time to begin their hunt for Halloween treats throughout the neighborhood during door-to-door trick-or-treating hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on October 26.

“Halloween is a fun, festive time, and we all love to see the children dressed up in their scariest, silliest, funniest, and favorite costumes for their trick-or-treating adventure,” said Mayor Anthony Fanucci. “It’s heartwarming to see everyone working together every year to make sure that families wandering neighborhoods throughout the city are warmly welcomed, and stay safe. For individuals out driving during Trick-or-Treat hours, please be extra cautious. Children are understandably excited and anxious to get to every house in the neighborhood so keep an eye out, especially at intersections and where cars are parked along the street.”
