Happenings around Gloucester County

The Gloucester County Department of Health’s WIC Division continues bringing services directly to the communities through the WIC and Nursing Mobile Van. The van will be at Second Baptist Church, 1540 Swedesboro Ave. in Paulsboro on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. through Dec. 19. To schedule an appointment call (856) 423-7160 or text 85511.

The South Jersey Museum of American History is located at 138 Andaloro Way. The museum’s permanent exhibits include artifacts from the Pre-Columbian through the Colonial Eras, American Farmstead, Antique hand tools and equipment, the Pine Barrens, Glass and a Fossil exhibit.

The museum is currently holding its 23rd Annual Antique Toy Train Show, which will run through Feb. 1, 2026.The train show will feature O and O-27 gauge toy trains from the 1930’s, 1940’s and 1950’s. Lionel, Marx and American Flyer engines, with adjoining cars, will race against each other on two diverse platforms. Vintage Plasticville buildings from the 1950’s will further augment the display. Vegetation and auxiliary structures will give the platforms a traditional holiday appearance.

Serve-A-Tray program, which is for seniors 60 or older, is more than just a meal delivery – it’s about maintaining health, independence, and dignity for homebound seniors in the community. Participants receive a complete midday meal Monday through Friday, with frozen meals available for weekends. For more information call (856) 686-8325.
