No charges in fatal bike crash

No charges are pending in the case of a 39-year-old Glassboro man who died on Nov. 6 after his bike was struck by two vehicles as he attempted to cross Black Horse Pike at the intersection of Berlin-Cross Keys Road.

Police responded to the fatal crash at about 9 p.m. A 2002 Chrysler minivan operated by a Williamstown man was traveling southbound on Black Horse Pike approaching the intersection, followed from behind by a 2023 Honda CRV also operated by a Williamstown man.

Police said when the victim attempted to cross the intersection from the eastbound side, he fell off his bike and was hit by the Chrysler as he lay within the southbound travel lane. He was then struck by the Honda. He was pronounced dead at the scene, where both vehicles remained.

The case is being investigated by Monroe Township police. Witnesses are asked to contact officer Dacoda Leech at (856) 728-9800, ext. 567, or by email at dleech@monroetwppd.org.
