Monroe’s community affairs department, and the mayor’s addiction committee will team up to host the Moving for Mental Health free walk at Owen’s Park on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is meant to strengthen mental-health awareness and is open to people of all ages. Along with the walk, the day will also feature wellness activities like yoga and movement, explore resources, help participants connect with local organizations and provide kids with activities in a welcoming space.

Also featured will be a student art showcase called Every Mind Matters, a selection of work that focuses on the themes of mental wellness, kindness, support, hope and resilience.

Community affairs is currently looking for support services, activity vendors and resources for the event. To get a table, register for one through a Google doc that can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
