Miss Gloucester County, Amanda Peacock, addresses a council meeting where she was cited for her work in the community and beyond.
Monroe council recognized Miss Gloucester County 2026, Amanda Peacock, at its Jan. 28 meeting by presenting her with a township certificate of recognition.
Peacock is a longtime township resident who received her title in August. Later this year, she’ll compete for the title of Miss New Jersey, and if successful, will represent New Jersey in the Miss America pageant.
“I’ve been part of the Miss America organization for the last 14 years,” she said. “I started as a teenager and now, I’m almost 27 years old. This will be my seventh time competing at Miss New Jersey. I’ve held titles like Miss South Jersey. I’ve represented some of the Jersey Shore, but this year is actually special.”
That’s because of winning in her home county, Peacock noted. She has been a first runner-up and second runner-up in the state competition, and during part of her time in the Miss America organization, Peacock has participated in a number of community service projects and events. Among them is addressing distracted driving, specifically using a cell phone behind the wheel.
“Miss America has changed my life,” Peacock said. “It has instilled in me a heart for service, a heart for serving our veterans, many different communities in New Jersey and beyond, and all the advocacy work that I do against distracted driving.”
It was that advocacy and her county representation that led council to honor Peacock with a certificate presented by Mayor Gregory Wolfe, who also addressed her hard work. The mayor and council have also honored Peacock in the past.
“Miss Amanda Peacock here is a regular, it seems like,” Wolfe explained. “If you don’t know Amanda, she does some tremendous work in not only our community, but throughout our whole state. We are big cheerleaders for her because of the amazing work she does, and it’s always a pleasure to have her back.”
