Police Chief John McBride recently accepted the Patriotic Employer award from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) on behalf of the Monroe Township Police Department. The award was presented by Marine Corps retired Colonel Alan Smith in recognition of the department’s continued support for their officers who also serve in the military.
The certificate will be proudly displayed at police headquarters as a symbol of the department’s ongoing commitment to supporting officers who also serve in the United States Armed Forces and also providing employment opportunities to Guardsman, Reservists, and transitioning Service Members and Veterans.
Today’s recognition follows a nomination submitted by Officer Justin Fyffe, who is currently deployed with the U.S. Marine Corps. Fyffe began his career with the department in 2024.
