A 25-year-old Monroe Township man has been charged with sexual assault and the manufacture and distribution of child sexual abuse material, among other charges, after an alleged minor victim came forward in October and told police they had been sexually assaulted by him, according to documents filed in the case.

After the police report, a search warrant was executed at McCray’s residence, where controlled, dangerousis substances, drug paraphernalia and multiple cellular phones were found. The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office assisted Monroe police in a forensic analysis of the electronic devices, where they found approximately 260 images and 40 video files containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

A second victim who alleged they had been assaulted by McCray was identified during the search, and five other minors were identified in McCray’s photos, videos and chat messages. He was arrested at his home on Dec. 3 and charged on 27 counts that also included endangering the welfare of a child, drug offenses and violation of a protective order.

McCray – who could face up to 20 years in state prison – is being held at Salem County Jail.

Besides the prosecutor’s office, the case was investigated by the county SWAT team and Monroe police.
