Donate gently used winter coats through Oct. 10 in a bin at 420 S. Main St. for the second annual coat drive sponsored by Viola’s Place along with Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home and Diane Memorials.

Monroe Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m., Williamstown High School.

Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19

Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management is hosting free 12-hour Disaster Preparedness and Survival training that is open to the public. This training is being taught by Texas A&M and is funded through FEMA. The in-person class will be held 6-10 p.m., Oct. 18 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 19. Those interested must attend both days.
