Six Washington Township High School students were recently accepted into the New Jersey All-State Choruses for the 2026-’27 school year, after auditioning with fellow high-school students from across the state.
Savannah Cox, Luciana DiVenti, Joy Umeh and Courtney Waddington will perform in the All-State Mixed Chorus in November, during the New Jersey Education Association Teacher Convention in Atlantic City. Sonya Tereshko and Meddie Tuckey will perform in the All-State Treble Chorus next February at the New Jersey Music Educators Association Conference, also in Atlantic City.
Both groups will have a second performance at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.
“It is always an honor to see our students not only auditioning for region and state music ensembles, but also for so many of our students to be accepted,” school choir director Amy Flynn said. “It creates a deep sense of pride in our school and our music department.”
