Three Washington Township High School juniors were recognized recently for being selected by the township’s American Legion Post 521 to attend the American Legion Auxiliary Jersey Boys State for 2025.
Anthony DiFranceisco, Dayton Lundberg and Celestino Stanfa will attend the training from June 15 to 20 at Rider University.
Boys State is sponsored and organized by the American Legion for citizenship training that educates youth on the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of American citizenship. Activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law-enforcement presentations, assemblies and recreational programs.
State candidates are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, patriotism, community involvement and extracurricular activities. Candidates are interviewed by a member of the American Legion who has final authority in selecting the Boys State delegates.
