The academy will offer our residents an inside exclusive look at the training and behind-the-scenes activities that make the Voorhees police department function in a professional, effective and efficient manner daily. Sessions will cover crime scene investigation, the patrol and investigations bureaus, K-9 demonstrations, police use of force and stress, a tour of the Central Communications Center (911), traffic unit procedures and mock car stops, internal affairs and body-worn cameras, community affairs, school safety and domestic violence.

The academy will host about 30 residents ages 18 and over. Applicants are required to successfully pass a background examination that includes driver’s license and criminal history checks. Those who qualify will be notified via email. Selected applicants will also need to complete a waiver of liability form.

The deadline for applications is Thursday, Feb. 26, at 5 p.m. For more information, please contact Sgt. Jack Kluk at jkluk@vtpd.com or by phone at (856) 882-1104.
