Meerwald announces its next Second Wednesday Museum Series featuring films and arts-related presentations.
Join us on Wednesday, October 14, at 2 p.m. for an antique oyster plates presentation with collector Antoinette Libro Braca, who will display and discuss the distinguishing characteristics of oyster plates and their worth in today’s market. A PowerPoint presentation featuring an array of colorful oyster plates in various shapes and styles will further highlight the allure and beauty of these prized works of art, and their origins and popularity during the late 19th and early 20th century period. Braca is a collector of antique oyster plates and is retired from teaching at Rowan University. She is also a published poet, writer, and scholarly researcher and a Trustee and founding member of the Endicott Reardon Family Museum in Ocean View. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University.
