Rowan College of South Jersey’s Cumberland and Gloucester Campuses are now offering free workforce training for New Jersey private sector and non-profit employees through the Workplace Literacy and Basic Skills Training Grant Program.
This opportunity helps organizations build stronger teams and develop essential skills in the areas of leadership, employee development, PC skills, customer service and more— at no cost to the employer.
This training is funded by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development through taxes that businesses already pay. There is no financial cost and no company financial information required to participate.
To qualify, the business must be a private sector or non-profit organization that is registered in the State of New Jersey and in compliance with all state tax laws. In addition, employees must be paid their regular wages for the time they spend in training sessions. Since this grant is funded through unemployment payroll taxes that employers already contribute to, no additional financial investment is required to take advantage of this opportunity.
Organizations can choose between two convenient training formats. Companies looking to train a group of employees may opt for dedicated classes that are tailored specifically to their organization. These sessions can be delivered online, on-site at the company’s location, or hosted at either the Cumberland or Gloucester Campus of Rowan College of South Jersey. Scheduling is flexible to meet the needs of your team, and a minimum of 10 employees is required for dedicated training.
For businesses with smaller teams or individuals seeking professional development, open-enrollment classes are also available. These sessions are held online and bring together employees from multiple organizations, creating a dynamic learning environment while still delivering focused, high-quality instruction.
