Saturday, April 12
U.S. Army Air Corps veteran Alan Shapiro, 100 years old, from Blue Bell, PA, will talk about his experiences as a C-47 “Skytrain” pilot who flew missions against the Nazis—dropping paratroopers into Germany and supplying ammunition and fuel to allied tank units in Normandy.

Shapiro was 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Allied Airborne, 316th Troop Carrier Squadron. His presentation will take place on Saturday, April 12, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in “The Briefing Room” of the Wyble Library, 23 Peterson Street, Millville Executive Airport. Visitors will have the opportunity to hear Shapiro speak at the original C-47 Nose in the museum’s historic courtyard and climb into the cockpit if they choose.
