The Woman’s Club of Vineland was organized in 1899 with the goal of encouraging community and individual improvement.  Some of our most often-cited accomplishments include the founding of the Vineland Public Library and the first Physician’s Hospital.

Now in our 125th year of service, the club continues to carry on projects aimed at promoting general welfare.  The Vineland Memorial Home, Cumberland County Women’s Shelter (Safe House) and Vineland Public Schools are among the recipients of the club’s donations.  For example, the club has sponsored Youth Art Month each March for over 30 years, serving as judges and providing first-, second- and third-place awards for each of the eight public elementary schools in Vineland.

And, just in time for Mother’s Day, the club is holding a Baskets, Bags and Bingo at the Millville Elks Lodge #580, 1815 E. Broad St., Millville. Doors open at 1 p.m.; games start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 with proceeds to benefit the Cumberland County Safe House (women’s shelter) and other charities that the Club supports.

The Woman’s Club of Vineland is a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC) and General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) and supports many of the activities and fund-raising efforts of those organizations.

What distinguishes the club from other volunteer organizations is that it does not have a single focus. Members select projects that are relevant to them and those that address the needs of our community.

The Woman’s Club of Vineland is welcoming new members. Monthly  meetings are held at its clubhouse on the corner of Main Road and Washington Avenue.

For further information about the Club or how to join, contact Membership Chairman Judy at 856-696-5544.
