A Titanic-themed tea party held on a recent Sunday afternoon harkened back to the April 1912 sinking of the RMS Titanic. The British ocean liner, on its maiden voyage, was enroute from England to New York City when it struck an iceberg near Newfoundland and sank into the North Atlantic. About 1,500 of the 2,200 passengers and crew died.
The tea was held at the Vineland Historical and Antiquarian Society (VHAS). Captain Edward Smith (portrayed by Alan Mounier, pictured below) greeted the guests. Many attendees dressed in the styles of the post-Victorian era and all guests were seated at tables decked out with Titanic memorabilia.
A highlight of the day was special guest Alisa Dupuy portraying Eliza, a Titanic survivor. Her presentation was entertaining and informative.
