DiShayna Dennis, owner of “Pretty in Blink,” LLC, hosted a special beauty and skin care workshop for SMART Girls of the Boys & Girls Club of Cumberland County. SMART Girls is a gender-specific program that focuses on healthy lifestyles for girls. The trip was organized by Club SMART Girls Program Specialist Lavena Scafe.

DiShayna is a licensed esthetician and a former Boys & Girls Club mentor/volunteer. She was one of the club’s recipients of the 2021 entrepreneur award for Women’s History Month and is passionate about giving back to the community. She is also an active member of WAY Corp Outreach where she shares her gifts and talents. WAY Corp Outreach’s partnership with this particular field trip helped with providing meals and gas.

During the session, DiShayna educated participants on proper skin care, lash care, and the importance of seeking licensed professionals for beauty treatments. She also discussed the risk of following unverified social media beauty trends, and emphasized safety and personal care. It was a very informative and educational trip for all who attended.
