The Winslow Ready School District podcast conducted a live session during the Winslow Township School Board meeting on June 10.
During the session, questions were posed to several student-athletes in attendance. Among those interviewed was Winslow Township High School flag football offensive player Jahyra Jackson.
Jackson was honored as an All–South Jersey athlete in flag football and is an American Division champion. She helped lead Winslow Township to its first American Division Championship and an impressive 9–1 record.
In addition, her outstanding athletic achievements include 1,299 rushing yards, 29 touchdowns, and 47 solo flag pulls.
According to school officials, Jackson is the first female flag football player to receive a college scholarship offer. She will attend St. Thomas Aquinas College in New York.
Other notable student-athletes include Jasmine Jackson (girls’ 100-meter hurdles), Cinniya Robinson (girls’ 400-meter hurdles), and Nyqir Helton (wide receiver).
