The Burlington County Animal Shelter’s second annual Motors for Mutts Open House and Car Show returns this Saturday. Dozens of cars, trucks and motorcycles of all sizes, styles and ages will be displayed during the event, which will also feature music, food and children’s activities.
Cars, canines and cats will once again come together for a special open house at the Burlington County Animal Shelter.
The second annual Motors for Mutts Open House and Car Show is returning this Saturday, Nov. 8, from noon to 4 p.m. at the animal shelter. Dozens of cars, trucks and motorcycles of all sizes, styles and ages will be displayed during the event, which will also feature music, food and children’s activities.
Visitors can also meet some of the shelter dogs and cats that are available for adoption or foster. Admission is free and all adoption fees are being waived during the event.
“Fans of chrome classics, Jeeps, trucks and hot rods will find them all at the animal shelter this Saturday during this cool event that helps find forever homes for many of the shelter’s dogs and cats,” said Burlington County Commissioner Tyler Burrell, the liaison to the animal shelter. “Even if you’re not looking for a pet, you can still check out the vehicles and share photos of adoptable animals with friends and family. Every dog or cat we find a home for is a victory, so please come out and help motor our shelter to another great adoption year.”
The car show and open house is being organized by the county in partnership with Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter to raise awareness about the shelter’s mission and to connect adoptable pets with new loving families. During last year’s event, more than 90 vehicles participated in the show, and 26 dogs and cats were adopted from the shelter.
There is no entry fee for car show participants and prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories, including “Top Dog” (Best of Show), “Biggest Bark” (Best Engine), “Shiniest Coat” (Best Paint), “Shelter’s Choice” and more.

Not sure you’re ready for a pet? Fostering is a great option for individuals and families that want to help the shelter’s animals. Residents can also volunteer at the shelter or collect needed items.
“Volunteering is a great way to assist the shelter and all the animals that reside there, and there’s plenty of ways to help, ranging from walking dogs and sorting supplies to making treats or pet toys,” said Burlington County Commissioner Randy Brolo. “Every little bit of assistance makes a difference and can help us find loving homes for the pets at the shelter.”
