The Burlington County Superintendent of Elections office will stay open late tomorrow for last-minute voter registrations and to assist with vote-by-mail applications before the upcoming New Jersey Primary Election.

Tuesday, May 12, is the last day New Jersey residents can register to vote in the June 2 Primary Election. Registration can be done in person at most municipal buildings and also at the Burlington County Superintendent of Elections Office at 301 Harper Drive, Moorestown, open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. To accommodate last-minute registrations, the Superintendent of Elections Office will also have special hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. also on May 12.

“Our nation’s democracy works best and is strongest when we all participate in it, so we’re encouraging all eligible U.S. citizens who aren’t yet registered to do so before the deadline and learn about the different ways they can cast their ballot,” said Burlington County Superintendent of Elections Dawn Marie Addiego. “You can vote by mail, drop box, or machine. All three methods are safe and secure, but it all begins with being registered. It’s the first step to making sure your voice is heard.”

Voter eligibility

An eligible Burlington County voter must be an adult U.S. citizen and a resident of Burlington County for at least 30 days before the June 2 Primary Election date. Seventeen year-olds are also eligible to register and vote in the Primary Election so long as they will turn 18 by the November General Election.

Voters can register online at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register or obtain a paper registration form at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/561/Voter-Registration that can be mailed or hand delivered to the Superintendent of Elections Office.

All completed registration forms must arrive at the office before closing on May 12 for the voter to be eligible to participate in the upcoming election.

Voters can check their registration status online at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/registration-check.
