Voters in Shamong either went to the polls early, voted on Election Day on Nov. 4, or mailed in votes to elect members for council and for school board.
Shamong Township Committee
Three candidates vied for two, three-year term seats on the committee.
Republican incumbent Michael Di Croce – the current mayor – and newcomer Michael Southwick faced Democratic newcomer Anastasia Zuccaro.
There were 5,570 votes cast. Southwick received the most, with 2,152, followed by Di Croce with 2,019 votes over Zuccaro, who got 1,271.
There were 68 write-in votes.
Shamong Township Board of Education
Four candidates vied for two, three-year term seats on the school board.
There were 5,439 votes cast. Incumbents Keith Hopson and Jeff Warner sought reelection. Michael Corney and Toby Martin sought first terms.
Corney received 1,700 votes, followed by Martin with 1,491. Warner received 1,192 votes and Hopson 979.
There were 40 write-in votes.
