The 98th annual Captain Emilio Carranza Memorial Service was held on July 12 at the Carranza Memorial Park in Wharton State Forest. Every year, Mount Holly Post No. 11 of the American Legion celebrates Carranza, whose plane crashed in the New Jersey Pines in July of 1928 while he was on a goodwill flight commissioned by the government of his native Mexico.
