Hill Creek Farms will launch its farewell season on Saturday.
As the township farm prepares for its next chapter, the season will mark a return to its roots, a simpler, more traditional experience that celebrates the core farming activities that made Hill Creek a local favorite for more than 20 years.
While some of the larger attractions and farm extras will be scaled back, the heart of the farm will remain. MC Farms just a few miles up the road will carry on the spirit of Hill Creek beginning next year. Tickets can be purchased online at the Hill Creek Farms website.
For the final season, visitors can still enjoy these products and activities:
- U-pick Janigold apples and sunflowers
- Free hayrides: Tour the farm or witness its harvest.
- $5 barrel rides: Perfect for younger guests.
- Picnicking and photo ops: Guests are encouraged to bring their own snacks.
Among attractions that will be closed or unavailable as the farm downsizes:
- The market: Closed for the season. No apple cider, cider donuts or pre-packaged produce to buy.
- No wine garden or eateries: Visitors are encouraged to pack their own snacks and enjoy the farm’s scenic outdoor areas instead.
- No bounce houses or playgrounds
- No gem mining or duck races
By stepping away from many of the modern offerings, the farm hopes to bring guests closer to the land, the produce, and the simplicity of farm life.
