Man dies after being hit by car

An 85-year-old Mullica Hill man was struck by a car and died on the morning of May 2 after he walked into the middle of southbound Cedar Road, according to Harrison Township police.

Investigators have not determined why David Dersch was in the roadway at about 8:25 a.m., when he was struck by a 2020 BMW X3 whose driver is a 44-year-old female resident of Mullica Hill. Dersch died the same day at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, police said.

No charges have been filed and the investigation by Harrison police is ongoing.
