Harrison Elementary School’s students and staff honored the memory of late second-grade teacher Janet Core on Oct. 10.

The beloved Core was a life-long resident of Mullica Hill, and two of her children attended Harrison Elementary and Pleasant Valley School. Core started her career at the elementary school as an instructional aide, then decided she wanted to become a teacher.

She completed her student teaching at Pleasant Valley with Megan Sakhleh, then took up her position at Harrison. Her children, Laura and Nick, also became teachers. The school is wearing green in her honor.
