The Mullica Hill Business Association (MHBA) will host its annual Food Truck Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 17, along Main Street.
According to event coordinator Sarah Noll, about 10 to 12 food trucks will line up along the mile stretch of Main Street’s south part, an area that covers everything between Old Town Hall and Mullica Hill Baptist Church.
“We started it as another event to bring to town during the summer months,” she explained. “It’s meant to pick up business in the slower months, bring people to town and to bring people to Main Street. Who doesn’t love good food and drinks?”
Attendees will dine on a wide variety of food, including main course meals such as Mexican and barbecue, fancy beverages and desserts. There will also be live music from a band, as well as a DJ playing tunes.
Tables and trash cans will be set up along the street. Parking will be available at 18 and 19 South Main St. On top of providing a place for food truck owners to grow their business, the event also aims to spotlight the small merchants along Main Street that are a major focus of the MHBA.
“Every time we host an event,” Noll said, “we want to bring attention to local businesses. Many of the owners will be there to talk with people and network with them. It gives them (the owners) the chance to advertise. It’s a two-for-one deal that is meant to encourage traffic up and down the street.”
The businesses will extend their normal operating hours. The MHBA expects about 200 people to attend.d, music and community,” the MHBA noted on Facebook.
