The township is inviting all residents to participate in the fourth annual holiday house decorating contest.

The Deck the House competition will have five categories: best use of theme, most creative, council’s choice, mayor’s choice and people’s choice. To compete, registrants must be township residents and an entry form on the township website must be completed, signed and submitted no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19.

Registration can be emailed to Ashlyn Grisetti at agrisetti@mountlaurel.com or a hard copy can be dropped off or mailed to Grisetti at 750 Centerton Road. For the people’s choice category, residents must email the address of their favorite decorated house to Grisetti.

Entries will be judged on “curb appeal,” but indoor decorations are not included unless they can be viewed from the outside of a home. Family-oriented decorations must include lights or illumination and be in good taste. Winners will receive their awards at the Monday, Jan. 5, council meeting.

Registration includes consent for entry photos to be featured in local media, the township website and social media. The full list of participating houses will be on Facebook and the township website by the end of day on Monday, Dec. 22.

The contest application form can be found on the township website. Any questions are to be emailed to Grisetti or by calling her at (856) 234-0001, ext. 1289.
