Wednesday, Dec. 4

Preschool Storytime: Ages 3 to 5 years. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Join in for stories, song, and rhymes with a new theme explored every week. This story time helps kids build early literacy skills and a love of reading. Registration is required at www.mtlaurel.lib.nj.us.

Knit and Crochet Meetup: Ages 18 years and up. 1 to 3 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Like to knit or crotchet? Join this friendly group. Beginners to experts are welcome to attend. Participants must bring their own materials. No registration required.

Scrabble Club: Ages 18 years and up. 2 to 4 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Beginners, experts, and all word game enthusiasts are invited to join the library staff for a fun evening. Research shows that Scrabble keeps the brain stimulated and engaged, expands vocabulary, and even improves players moods. Scrabble boards, scoring materials, and a dictionary will be provided. Participants may bring friends or make new friends at the event. Participants will play in groups of up to four people. No registration required.

Tai Chi for Health: Ages 18 years and up. 4 to 5 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Certified instructor Bob Stanton teaches tai chi, a gentle exercise that can improve muscle tone, flexibility, and coordination. This class can be done seated or standing. Registration is required at www.mtlaurel.lib.nj.us.

ESL Conversation Class with NJ Literacy: Ages 18 years and up. 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. This ESL class is for upper level beginner to lower level intermediate learners. Visit www.literacynj.org/burlington-student-application to apply. Applicants will be contacted and placed in an appropriate class for their learning level.

Friday, Dec. 6

Knit & Crochet Afternoon Meetup: Ages 18 years and up. 1 to 3 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Like to knit or crotchet? Join this friendly group. Beginners to experts are welcome to attend. Participants must bring their own materials. No registration required.

Sunday, Dec. 8

The Mount Laurel Historical Society 2024 Holiday Open House: All ages. 1 to 4 p.m. at Farmers’ Hall, located at the intersection of Hainesport Road and Mount Laurel Road. The Mount Laurel Garden Club will once again be decorating for this event. This year’s theme is  “Sounds of Music.” No registration required.

Harmony Choir Show: All residents. 2 to 3 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. The Show Choir is a group of high-energy, high-school-age singers, they’ll be performing a fun, family-oriented holiday musical revue. No registration required.

Monday, Dec. 9

Move and Groove: Ages 18 months to 5 years. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Join in for this weekly outdoor event where participants will be able to celebrate music through rhymes, songs, and dance-alongs. This program will give kids a chance to learn new dance moves and get active. No registration required.

Tuesday, Dec. 10

Toddler Storytime: Ages 18 months to 3 years. 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Residents are invited for stories, songs, rhymes, and a take-home craft or coloring page as a new theme is explored every week. This story time will help kids build early literacy skills and a love of reading. No registration required. Check the library’s events calendar for updates.

Mahjong: Ages 18 years and up. 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Mahjong is a popular tile-based game of strategy and skill. Some experience is recommended for this event. Participants may bring a National Mahjong League 2023 card and a mahjong set. No registration required.

Mount Laurel Township’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony: All residents. 5 to 8 p.m. at 118 Creek Road. Mount Laurel and Rancocas Woods annual tree lighting event will have free activities at Fleetwood Elementary including face painting, bounce houses, mechanical rides and more. The Mount Laurel Fire Department will bring Santa on a fire truck at 6 p.m. No registration required.
