Residents and social committee members of The Mews at Laurel Creek in Moorestown – Joanie Perry, Lynn Morsell and Nancy DiNubile – once again organized a toy drive for the children and families of the Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development (MEND) that netted 150 gifts, stocking stuffers and more than $575 worth of monetary donations and gift cards for the MEND holiday fund.

“For six consecutive years, the Mews at Laurel Creek community has come together to ensure the children in our MEND housing sites have a memorable holiday,” said Eileen Wirth, MEND’s president and CEO. “We’re so grateful – this is the true spirit of the holidays.”

Perry and Morsell spearheaded the drive in 2018 and hope to continue it for years to come.

“The social committee and the community look forward to the toy drive all year long,” Perry noted. “The generosity and the efforts of our residents really help make this toy drive so successful. We’re already looking forward to continuing this tradition for our seventh year, to ensure a joyful holiday for all the families at MEND.”
