The Centennial Surgery Center in Voorhees is among 18 ambulatory surgery centers recognized by Newsweek.

Newsweek’s annual ranking of the best ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) in the U.S. for 2025 includes 18 Virtua Health joint-venture centers, up from 14 last year.

Sixteen of them are in New Jersey, with two in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

“Having so many of Virtua’s joint-venture ASCs make the Newsweek list speaks to our commitment to quality care and outcomes,” said Barry Graf, Virtua’s senior vice president of partnerships and business development. “Virtua strives to be a partner in health for anything a person might need.

“While many people think of our hospitals first, we have an extensive network of joint-venture ASCs throughout South Jersey and beyond.”

The Centennial Surgery Center and the Endo Center at Voorhees have earned 4.9-star Google ratings based on patient feedback.

Graf pointed out that Virtua places a strong emphasis on safety.

“Safety always comes first for us,” he noted. “We lean on our high-reliability principles to ensure that every employee understands how they contribute to a safe environment.”

The ASC model is meant to enhance patient comfort and efficiency, compared with traditional hospital settings.

“Patients appreciate being back in their own beds the same day,” Graf explained, noting that the familiarity aids in recovery.

Virtua’s ASCs serve a wide range of medical needs, from gastroenterology to general surgery, catering specifically to the local community. Graf pointed out that “the people of South Jersey are fortunate to live in a competitive market that provides choices of where to go for care.”

Despite the Newsweek ranking, Virtua is committed to continuous improvement.

“While it’s wonderful to receive recognition from Newsweek, we cannot take anything for granted,” Graf acknowledged.

Virtua plans to continue partnering with ASCs in the Voorhees area to ensure it has the necessary resources and support to thrive. Graf also highlighted the importance of collaboration and communication among staff, physicians, and partners.

“Health care is truly a team sport,” he observed.
