World Athlete Track Academy’s 18th season starts on Thursday, Jan. 9. Practices and meets are expected to be held at Moorestown High School. This is a six-week program and is for ages 5 to 14. THURSDAY, Dec. 12

Wellness Wisdom: Occupational Well-Being: Live Zoom Program. Well-being is an important part of living a healthy and fulfilled life. There are eight components of Wellness defined by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration), which will be examined while suggesting ways to achieve them for better life-balance and stress reduction. This week personal satisfaction and enrichment from one’s work will be discussed. In partnership with the Monmouth County Library, this session will be conducted on Zoom. Register at monmouthcountylib.org to receive emailed information on how to access the conversation.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) – Project Linus Blanket Making. Moorestown Library. 6:30 p.m. This program is for ages 13 to 17. Teen volunteers will make fleece blankets for children. Virtual Meditation Circle. 7:30 p.m. Whether you are new to it or a long-time practitioner, join Alex Dys-Dragos to meditate, learn, share experiences and deepen practice. Register on the library website.

FRIDAY, Dec. 13

Afternoon Movie and Tea at the Moorestown Library at 2 p.m. This program will show “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” The documentary paints a portrait of the philosophy and work of children’s entertainer Fred Rogers, star of the popular show “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” Sponsored by the Friends of the Moorestown Library.

SATURDAY, Dec. 14

Visit the Moorestown Library at 10 a.m. to watch the movie “Happy Feet” and make a few penguin crafts. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Kids Chess with Scott Gorman. Moorestown Library. 10 a.m. This program is for students in second grade and up. Register on the library website.

Philadelphia’s electric violinist, Bronwyn Beth, will take residents on a musical journey at the Moorestown Library at 2 p.m. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the versatility and magic of the violin. SUNDAY, Dec. 15

Children’s Scavenger Hunt. Moorestown Library. 1 p.m. For children of all ages. Pick up a sheet at the Youth Services desk and search the room for the images pictured on the sheet. But there’s a twist – one of the pictures isn’t there. When you figure out which one is missing, hand in your sheet for a small prize.

TAB presents: Spanish for Littles. Moorestown Library. 2 p.m. For children ages 5 to 10. TAB volunteer Ella Hovnanian and the Spanish Club from Moorestown High School will teach common phrases, do a craft and share some treats. Sponsored by the TAB. Register on the library website.

Knitting Group Meetup. Moorestown Library. 10:30 a.m. All levels of skill are welcome. Advanced knitters will be available for teaching and assistance.

ESL (English as a Second Language) Conversation Group. Moorestown Library. 5 p.m. ESL students are invited to enhance their conversation skills. This program will invite general, engaging conversation that will guide the class.

Dreidel Tournament. For students in grades K through 5. Join Ms. Ashley to face off in one of her favorite Hanukkah traditions. Participants will learn how to play dreidel and split into groups to play a few rounds. Each participant will leave with a dreidel of their own. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Overcoming Challenges Card Workshop. Moorestown Library. 6:30 p.m. Participants will create cards with the theme of resilience and overcoming adversity. During the workshop, participants will be given sample card title ideas and create cards that inspire strength and healing, uplift and empowerment, encouragement and growth.
