Wood Flower, a bluegrass band from Pennsylvania, will perform at the 2025 Moorestown Bluegrass Festival at Memorial Fields on Sept. 13.
Homegrown Moorestown and the Moorestown Music Collective have collaborated to bring the 2025 Moorestown Bluegrass Festival to the community on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Memorial Fields.
The free event will be held rain or shine. A performance schedule and list of vendors were to be determined as of Aug. 1. Start time is tentatively scheduled for 3 p.m.
“I think our (Homegrown Moorestown and the Moorestown Music Collective) visions overlapped with wanting to bring music to Moorestown, and us wanting to bring community events to Moorestown and work together,” said Gretchen Simmerson, co-founder of Homegrown Moorestown.
Homegrown’s mission is to promote community growth, support local initiatives and foster a stronger connection within the township. Past events held by the nonprofit have included The Longest Table, a Santa Stroll and a Halloween house-decorating contest. The collective is a nonprofit whose goal is to host live musical performances on Main Street and showcase local artists’ work.
This year’s Moorestown Bluegrass Festival will feature six regional bands, among them the Red Tailed Rounders; Midnight Flyer; Justin Trawick & The Common Good; Jody Drive; and Wood Flower, with a special appearance by Sean Daniels and The Law Abiding Citizens.
There will also be food vendors, beer and wine stands, yard games and activities for families and a beer stein-holding competition conducted by King’s Road Brewing Company, one of the festival sponsors.
“Part of Homegrown’s mission is to help businesses in town and people in town to promote themselves and their creativity,” noted Celie Coleman, co-founder of Homegrown Moorestown. “It’s great for the community to see what’s out there and what they can be exposed to, so we’ve had local vendors that will be there (at the festival) … which has been fun to network and see what everyone is doing.

This inaugural event aims to celebrate New Jersey’s rich string-music heritage and provide a platform for local talent and bluegrass lovers. Both Homegrown and the collective hope to introduce new generations to bluegrass and turn the festival into an annual township tradition.
