First Methodist Church in Moorestown’s health and wellness fair on Feb. 1 will be a time for individuals and families to pause after the holiday season and take time to learn practical skills for a successful and healthy 2025.

First Methodist Church (FMC) in Moorestown will host a health and wellness fair on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Everyone in the community is invited to participate in and benefit from the event.

“Self-care, with regards to each of these areas of health – physical, mental and emotional health – is as important now as it’s ever been, and I believe that finding a space to connect around these topics will help to create a community that exists to lift each other up and work together towards personal and communal betterment,” said Jeremiah Appleton, FMC’s program ministries coordinator and co-chair of the health and wellness fair.

FMC provides ongoing opportunities for the community to improve their overall well-being through educational and hands-on events focused on primary factors of wellness, including spiritual, physical, social, environmental, financial and mental health. The free health fair is a time for individuals and families to pause after the holiday season and take time to learn practical skills for a successful and healthy 2025.

“The connection through community is a means to reinforce the importance of keeping the value on our own health, and using our church is a means to foster that connection,” Appleton explained.

Advance registration for the fair isn’t required and walk-ins are welcome and encouraged. If you register for multiple people and all are attending the same sessions, you may register on a single form. If you will attend different sessions, register separately. The fair will include a plenary session, three individual sessions and a variety of health-focused vendors.

“This is our third year offering the health fair, and we are thrilled to see this blossom into a tradition at this point,” Appleton noted. “Certainly, in past years we have found a very receptive and appreciative audience, and we’re hoping to continue to see that grow and spread throughout Moorestown and to see our numbers grow year after year.”

Confirmed topics include Financial Health: Active strategies for managing family finances; Children’s Health: Infant and toddler developmental skills; Physical Health: Golf mobility and stability; Yoga techniques; Spiritual Health: Meditation; Community Health: humility, compassion and accountability; and Dietary Health: healthy cooking.

There will also be speakers lined up for mental health, pet health and senior care, and activities to engage children while parents attend the sessions. For more information or to register for the fair, visit www.fmcmoorestown.com and look for the event on the church events calendar.

“We are very interested in all the different ways we can impact the community at large,” Appleton observed, “and that is a very fulfilling thing for someone in the position I am that has the ability to impact the different ways that we do that, that we reach the community.

“We provide them with resources but also provide them with care.”
