Converge Church in Moorestown will hold its fall festival on Friday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.

“I’m very excited about it, always,” said Kitty Bowen, the church’s children’s ministry director.

The free family event will be held rain or shine and will feature decorated trunks with candy, food, games, a bounce house, caricatures, a Gospel House, a balloon artist and more. Guests will start the evening in the parking lot with decorated cars and candy, then move indoors to activities. There will also be a prayer tent for people who wish to either leave prayer needs or pray with someone.

“If people are coming by and they have some prayer needs that are in their family, they can leave them there and we will pray for them as a church,” Bowen said. ” … We just want to meet the spiritual needs and that’s why we provide that, so that if someone in the community wants to make that connection with us, we’re here for them.”

Thomas Kelley, the church’s Next Generation Pastor came to Converge last month from Virginia, and he’s excited to see the fall festival in action. He oversees not only the children’s ministry, but also the church’s youth and young adult ministries.

“… It’s a great way for us to share our faith,” he said, “to get the community in and to share our faith. I would say that’s probably the whole point of everything that we do, is to share the Christian faith.”

“As the years have progressed, we have added more and more things indoors,” added Bowen. “We’re doing it as an outreach to our community and we’re inviting the community to come to us and to meet them.”
