Blood Drives

The American Red Cross urges donors to keep the blood supply top of mind and help save lives by making an appointment to give blood or platelets. Those who come to give through Aug. 28 will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of choice. Plus, the Red Cross will perform free A1C testing, commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes, on successful donations (one test result per 12-month period). Medford Township Police Department’s 4th annual Cars, Coffee and Cops will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Roast Coffee Company, 200 Tuckerton Road.

For his September “Serve with Senator Singleton” event, State Sen. Troy Singleton will partner with the Burlington County Animal Shelter to provide a day of service. The event will take place at the Burlington County Animal Shelter, 35 Academy Drive, Westampton from 10 a.m. to noon.

Medford Knights Charity Fund, a New Jersey nonprofit corporation, is hosting its fifth annual charity Cornhole Tournament at St. Mary of the Lakes School on Route 70 in Medford. Net proceeds benefit the Christian Caring Center, a non-denominational non-profit providing assistance for the less fortunate in Burlington County. Services include food and financial assistance, shelter, crisis intervention, and job training. Detailed registration and tax-deductible sponsorship information is available at www.medfordknights.org/cornhole. The entry fee per two-person team is $80 and includes lunch, soft pretzels, and beverages and two free raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes. Medford Township is offering businesses and residents an opportunity to sponsor new banners for Main Street. This project originated with the Woman’s Club of Medford in 2015. Now, after eight years of proudly being displayed, it’s time to replace them. Each banner will include the name of the sponsor and will be attached to the light poles along Main Street.
