Medford Historical Society is holding a speaker series as part of celebrating the American Revolution at 250.

Colin Zimmerman, Ph.D. will join the society Oct. 2 He has experience as author, professor, and historian at Washington Crossing State Park. Events that took place in Burlington County before, and after the Battle of Trenton in December of 1776, influenced the course of the “Ten Crucial Days.” Much of his work focuses on reframing the narrative of the overall story to show the importance of Burlington City, Mount Holly, and the rest of the county as the gateway to Philadelphia for the Crown Forces. He will look at topics such as Hessian Colonel Carl Ulrich von Donop’s objectives, Burlington’s strategic importance, Colonel Samuel Griffin’s diversion, the role of the Pennsylvania Navy, and other relevant points.
