The Evesham Youth Advisory Committee hosted a day of Service on Jan. 19 to honor the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King on the holiday named for him.
This year’s celebration also featured a reenactment to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the nation’s birth, a performance by the Cherokee High School choir, poetry readings and group discussions. In the spirit of service, attendees also made hygiene kits for the needy and wrote inspiring messages on cards that went to Evesham seniors citizens, among other service projects.
In attendance to show support for the day’s efforts were Evesham’s Mayor Jackie Veasy, Deputy Mayor Heather Cooper, Councilwoman Dr. Krystal Hunter, Councilman Joe Fisicaro Jr., Burlington County commissioners Randy Brolo and Tyler Burrell and Moorestown Mayor Quinton Law.
