The Evesham Township Municipal Alliance and township police will again host the Light the Night Xglosive Basketball Tour at the department’s annual barbecue on Friday, Aug. 15.
Residents are invited to join the township for the free event, when courts at the Memorial Sports Complex on Tuckerton Road will be transformed with black lights, fluorescent graphics and upbeat music to create a nightclub-like atmosphere.
XGLOsive turns traditional basketball into a no-pressure social experience for people of all ages and abilities. Also partnering in the event are Prevention Plus of Burlington County Inc., the Burlington County Coalition for Healthy Communities and the Governor’s Council on Substance Use Disorder.
Sessions are available for ages 12 to 17, as well as for ages 18 and older. They will be broken out between 8 and 10:45 p.m. Visit the township website for more details.
The police barbecue will take place before the Xglosive sessions at 6:30 p.m. and Mister Softee will be by between them.
