Wednesday, Dec. 31

Baby Time: For babies and toddlers. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Evesham Library. Join the library staff for a fun-filled interactive event, which includes stories, rhymes, movement, and more. This class will focus on baby’s early language and literacy understanding through stories and repetitive rhymes or songs. Caregivers are encouraged to participate in this bonding experience. Baby Time is also a place to socialize with other families and meet new friends. Registration is required at www.bclsnj.bibliocommons.com.

Township offices and the library will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

Saturday, Jan. 3

The Art of Chinese Knotting: For ages 6 to 12 years. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Evesham Library. Young residents are invited to learn about the traditional art of Chinese knotting and create their own piece under the guidance of an experienced artist. Residents may sign up with friends or meet new ones and see what unique works of art each other makes using this ancient technique. This month the class will be making a snowman project.

This program is presented by Ms. Ting, a craft teacher at Cherry Hill Huaxia Chinese School since 2018. Registration is required at www.bclsnj.bibliocommons.com.

Monday, Jan. 5

Evesham Township Council Reorganization Meeting: For all residents. 5 p.m. at the Evesham Township Municipal Building. The annual reorganization meeting of the Evesham Township Council. No registration is required. A broadcast of the meeting will also be available on local Comcast Channel 192 and local Verizon Channel 22. 

Tuesday, Jan. 6

Start with Art: For ages 3 to 5 years. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Evesham Library. Toddlers are invited to join the library staff for a variety of art stations to get creative. This month’s theme is about winter holidays around the world. Be sure to dress for a mess. Registration is required at www.bclsnj.bibliocommons.com.

Smartphone Basics: For adults. 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Evesham Library. Residents are invited to learn the basic functions of their smartphone, essential gestures for touchscreen navigation in Apple and Android and a variety of useful apps for everyday tasks and entertainment. Participants should bring their smartphones (or iPads/Android tablets) to class. Registration required at www.bclsnj.bibliocommons.com.

Bring Your Own Book For Teens: For ages 13 to 18 years. 6 to 7 p.m. at the Evesham Library. In this unique book group, everyone brings their own book. It could be a favorite recent read, the book they’re currently reading or their favorite book of all time. Think of it like book show and tell. There’s no pressure to have read anything each month to participate— just show up and have fun discussing books. Registration is required at www.bclsnj.bibliocommons.com.
