Evesham officials attended the annual Village Greenes Veterans Day observance on Nov. 9 to unveil four new plaques on the community’s veterans wall of honor.
The wall was inspired by the Evesham Township Veterans Wall of Honor at the municipal complex. The ceremony featured songs from the Village Greenes’ choir and acapella group, as well as words from guest speaker Dr. Tyshawn Jenkins, an Air Force veteran who spoke as a representative of the Wounded Warrior Project.
In attendance for the ceremony on behalf of Evesham Township were Deputy Mayor Dr. Krystal Hunter, councilwoman Heather Cooper, councilmen Joe Fisicaro Jr. and Christian Smith and members of the Evesham police.
Hunter and Cooper also spoke to attendees about services and programs for vets provided by Evesham Township. State Sen. Latham Tiver provided an update on the state’s work regarding veterans’ issues.
