In a show of solidarity and respect, Mantua police and K-9 officers from surrounding areas participated in the return of former K-9 Zuke’s ashes to his handler, Sgt. Cody Mroz, last month. The dog passed away on March 8 after serving with township police for seven years. He was retired at the time of his passing. “He was more than a partner to Sgt. Mroz,” the department noted on Facebook. “He was a protector, a loyal companion and a hero to our community. His dedication and service will never be forgotten. Rest easy, Zuke. We’ve got it from here.”
