The Church of the Incarnation’s holiday bazaar is expected to include about 54 vendors.

For the seventh consecutive year, Mantua’s Church of the Incarnation will host its annual holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at its Kernan Center behind the church.

The free event will feature more than 50 vendors representing local businesses and crafters in the region, with products like knitted blankets, chemo caps for cancer patients, homemade ornaments and wreaths for purchase. According to event organizer and church member Peg Wilson, between 200 and 400 people are expected to attend.

“It’s the biggest church fundraiser of the year,” said Wilson. “It’s a really popular event. We have 54 vendors attending, and the vendor capacity has filled up already.”

Vendors will also donate gift baskets for an auction; about 60 them, according to Wilson, are expected to be donated from participating businesses. Food and drinks will also be served at the bazaar.

“Every vendor donates a basket to help advertise themselves,” Wilson explained. “We usually sell around 200 tickets. You do not have to be present to win a basket. This is a reason it is a huge draw, because it means that they (participants) don’t have to stand around the whole time.”

Ticket purchasers will be asked for contact information. Church administrators – including priests and deacons – will be on hand along with the church sponsor, the Incarnation Angels.

“We put the money towards our food pantry and to a program that helps people who need it for the holidays,” Wilson said.
