We’re not going to lie. Willow Wisp is a tough customer.

Many at the Calico Cafe in Oaklyn have tried to charm him, but he is so far unimpressed. We estimate that Willow is about 7 years old. This poor boy lost his home when his owner could no longer care for him, so we don’t blame this gorgeous little chonk for being a little grumpy.

He loves chilling on the Calico Cafe’s giant corduroy chair, camouflaging with his magnificent orange fur and putting any cats who try to dethrone him in their place. Be advised: Willow is not currently cuddle approved. He has allowed a few head pats and has gotten more social in his days at the cafe. But right now, he tends to appreciate a respectful distance between himself and all other living creatures.

Willow would probably do best with an experienced cat owner in a home without other pets or small kids, or with someone who can handle some hissing or an occasional bop on the face. Do you have what it takes to charm this spicy orange boy? Come and see!

The fee to adopt Willow is $75. Calico Cafe is partnered with the Garden State Pet Center, which provides a free starter bundle of supplements, treats and food upon adoption. Adoptions can be done same day in person.

We are also partnered with Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center, the shelter where we get our cats. We are just a cat lounge/cafe, where we keep the felines in a nice big space until they get adopted.
