Isaiah Cook and Connor Paoli, seniors at Haddonfield Memorial High School, have been awarded two of the four scholarships granted this year by the German Society of Pennsylvania, a prestigious organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Pennsylvania and the Delaware Valley’s link to German culture, language, and heritage.

Both students distinguished themselves through their academic excellence, commitment to the study of
German, and contributions to cultural understanding. Paoli will attend Georgetown University in the fall,
where he plans to study German and history, while Cook has been accepted to Drexel University
Pennoni Honors College, where he will study music industry and German.

Both Cook and Paoli studied German with veteran teacher Anna Feinleib and participated in
exchange programs. The scholarships are part of the German society’s long-standing commitment to supporting students from the area who intend to major or minor in the language in college. Award recipients are selected through a competitive application process that includes a German-language writing sample and an in-person interview conducted largely in German.
