Create your own sunshine stuffie with felt and thread! Kids will learn basic sewing stitches, assemble, and stuff their own drop of golden sun. No experience required and all materials will be provided. Parents or Caregiver are required to assist their child.

April 18 – Guided Evans Pond Walking Tour – 10 a.m.
Join Naturalist Michael Hogan for a two-mile guided nature walk around Evans Pond on Saturday April 18. The walk will begin at 10:00am at the Evans Pond dam, and end at the same place by noon. Michael, who is associated with the South Jersey Land and Water Trust and Camden County Parks Department, will point out native and non-native flora as well as other wildlife.
The walk will be moderately challenging, primarily on natural surface paths around the pond where hikers will have to navigate several steep slopes, small stream crossings and muddy areas. Hikers should wear sturdy, comfortable shoes or boots that can get muddy and wet. Note that part of the walk will be on sidewalks along Kresson Rd for two blocks and along Elmhurst Ave for one block. Participants are encouraged to take and post photographs of this beautiful and historic natural area.
Haddonfield Water Trail Association and the Cherry Hill Environmental Board will assist Michael in leading the walk around the pond through county parkland and Cherry Hill’s Croft Farm. In the event of steady rain, the walk will be canceled.
Not a hiker? Please join artist Deborah Garwood at Evans Pond dam for outdoor art activities including drawing, watercolor, photography. Basic art supplies provided. Deborah’s works are held in domestic and international collections. She is the author of “Evans Pond: A Long-term Study of a Single Place” (2009).

Let’s upcycle and recycle! Got an old t-shirt? Let’s turn it into a tote rather than putting it in the trash? Let’s feed the birds. Everyone will go home with an upcycled bird feeder that they fill with bird food.
We will sort our recyclables and learn what is recyclable and what is not.
April 21, 28 Girls Who Code Jr. – 3:30 p.m.
Girls Who Code Clubs are spaces where students can join our sisterhood of supportive peers and use Computer Science to change the world. Our 3rd and 4th-grade club will focus on core AI literacies and machine learning, while promoting bravery, sisterhood, and confidence.

The Cooper River in Haddonfield is rich in history and natural assets, but access to the river and adjacent parkland is limited. The Haddonfield Water Trails Association will lead a discussion about opportunities to expand access and recreational opportunities.
