TRICK OR TREATING HOURS

The Gloucester City Police Department also announced that Trick or Treating hours this year on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, will be from 2 to 7 p.m. and provided these Halloween safety tips for residents:

Stay on sidewalks whenever possible while trick or treating; look both ways before crossing the street; use crosswalks and obey traffic signals and “never assume a driver sees you.”

Also, stay together as young children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult. Older children should trick-or-treat in groups and have a planned route and a set time to return home.

“Inspect all treats before eating them. Parents and guardians should check candy and discard anything that is opened, damaged, or looks suspicious,” the GCPD stated. “Drivers, please slow down! Be extra alert in residential neighborhoods and watch carefully for children crossing the street. Let’s all do our part to keep Gloucester City safe this Halloween! Have fun, look out for one another, and enjoy the treats.”
