Gloucester Catholic High School is incredibly proud to announce that senior Riley Fitzpatrick has made her verbal commitment to continue both her academic and athletic career at the University of Cincinnati.
Riley, an All-State swimmer, has been a standout member and leader of the Gloucester Catholic swim team. She specializes in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley (IM) and has continued to make her mark in the pool.
At the South Jersey Interscholastic Swimming Association Invitational last January, Riley captured the 200 IM title with a time of 2:07.98, nearly a full second faster than her time at last year’s Meet of Champions, where she was a state finalist. She also posted an impressive 1:03.53 in the 100 breaststroke at the SJISA Invitational.
Riley credits her family for inspiring her love of swimming, saying, “My mom really inspires me. My mom was a swimmer. Her mom was a swimmer, so it really inspires me to keep swimming.”
Riley shared her gratitude for everyone who has been part of her journey, with a special thank-you to Coach Joey, Coach Scott, and the entire University of Cincinnati Swim staff for believing in her and giving her the opportunity to continue her swimming career at the collegiate level.
“We couldn’t be prouder of you, Riley,” Gloucester Catholic administrators said. “Your hard work, dedication, and commitment have earned you this incredible opportunity. We can’t wait to see all you accomplish at Cincinnati. Congratulations, Riley. We’ll always be cheering you on!”
