Shamong Township: Election results

Voters in Shamong Township went to the polls on Nov. 5 and elected members for township committee and school board of education.

The Burlington County Clerk’s Office has posted results from the election on its website, all of which are unofficial until a vote-counting process that could take more than a week is complete.

Vote totals do not include late mail-in and provisional ballots; they are expected to be tallied at a later date.

Shamong Township Committee

Two candidates ran for two council seats in an uncontested race. As of Nov. 7, Republican incumbent Brian Woods has received 2,644 votes and Republican candidate David Diamond has received 2,605 votes. There are 84 personal choice votes.

Shamong Township Board of Education

Two candidates vied for one seat on school board of education. As of Nov. 7, Candidate Denise Moran leads with 1,734 votes over incumbent Frank Locantore, who has received 1,269 votes. There are 21 personal choice votes.

Lenape Regional School District Board of Education

Two candidates vied for one seat on the Lenape Regional School District Board of Education to represent Shamong. As of Nov. 7, incumbent Samuel B. Green, who is currently serving as board vice president, has a slight lead with 1,564 votes over candidate Anne Ehrke, who has received 1,521 votes. There are 23 personal choice votes.
